RYAN O'NEILL
DANCE artist

​Ryan achieved a first class honours degree in Dance from the Ulster University and studied his Masters in Dance Performance at Laban as part of a professional post graduate company Transitions.

Since then Ryan has worked with Maiden Voyage Dance, Off The Rails, ponydance, Tinderbox, Oona Doherty Works (NI) Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Junk Ensemble, Panpan, Company Philip Connaughton, Coisceim, Liz Roche Company (IRL) Gwyn Emberton Dance (UK) and Punchdrunk’s Sleep No More in Shanghai.

In 2011, Ryan was selected by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland to meet Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham palace in recognition of his achievements as a young person in the Arts. Ryan is also a qualified Ashtanga Yoga teacher.

Maria McManus 
Poet

Born between the bridges of Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh, poet and playwright Maria McManus lives in Belfast. She is the author of Available Light (Arlen House, 2017), We are Bone (2013), The Cello Suites (2009) and Reading the Dog (2006) (Lagan Press).  Her writing for theatre includes work with Kabosh, TinderBox, Red Lead, Replay, Big Telly and Off the Rails, a dance company.  

Her passion is poetry in public space, and she has collaborated extensively with other artists to create Cirque des Oiseaux, DUST, and LabelLit. She has performed in Ireland, USA, the Basque Country, Portugal and Sweden.  She facilitates XBorders for the Irish Writers’ Centre and Under the Skin for the Seamus Heaney Home Place.  She has received numerous Arts Council of Northern Ireland awards, including ACES in 2015 and the Artists’ International Award 2016. She is artistic director and curator of Ireland’s only Poetry Jukebox.

Katie richardson

Katie is heavily involved in the arts as a musician, composer, musical director, actress and facilitator. In 2012 she was featured as one of the Irish Times 'Northern Lights' which profiled people changing the face of Northern Ireland in their particular fields.

​As the current musician in Residence with BeatCarnival Katie composed music for 100 drummers,
100 singers and 100 dancers for the large scale outdoor finale of Culture Night Belfast 2014.  Katie
has made many TV (RTE Meteor music awards,BBC NI's Out Of The Blue and Come Dine With Me), radio and festival appearances and has worked and shared a stage with the likes of Van Morrison, Foy Vance, Matt Cardle, Misha B, Duke Special, Emmy the Great, Hothouse Flowers, and Jesca Hoop.  

Katie was Artist in Residence in The Mac last Autumn while she was composing music for their original production of 'Hatch.' She has also composed music for many other theatrical productions including 'Huzzies' by Stacey Gregg and produced by Tinderbox Theatre Company in The Belfast Festival at Queens in 2012.  Katie is a pioneer for inclusion through the arts and frequently works as a facilitator in music, drama and visual arts for many Northern Irish organisations and with people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. She is currently working with Off the Rails Dance and is launching a new project called 'to be beautiful' which is a creative response to issues surrounding beauty and body image in society.
